Pathfinders management of the countryside and landscape
Nigel Owen started the business, as a sole trader in 1987 with Val Shaw joining as an equal partner in 1991, operating under the trading name of Pathfinders. This changed to Limited Company status under the name of Pathfinders Countryside Limited and started trading under this name on the 1st April 2002. Nigel and Val are the only 2 directors of the company.
The business carries on the business of management of the countryside and landscape undertaking all works relating to general management, maintenance and improvement with the main contracts being with the following:
- Ceredigion County Council
- Pembrokeshire County Council
- Woodland Trust
- Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority
- Countryside Council for Wales
- Swansea City Council
- Neath and Port Talbot County Council
They also have a number of smaller contracts and some domestic contracts. They also have teams of qualified Arborists and this side of the business can take them all over the Wales.
One of the biggest contracts is the one with PCC to open up, improve and maintain the whole of the Pembrokeshire network of Public Rights of Way.
Pathfinders Countryside Limited has established a reputation second to none in the sector that can always be relied upon to complete work in accordance with the customer’s specifications and within the agreed timescales. They set very high standards and pride themselves on providing a consistently high quality service and this is evidenced by the fact that they are the main contractors for the organisations listed above.
All contracts are undertaken by the fully trained team of landscape operators using modern techniques, equipment and machinery always mindful of the Health and Safety regulations.
